BioWorld Medtech | Blackrock Neurotech snaps up Mindx to drive brain-computer interface implants

By Meg Byrant

Blackrock Neurotech LLC has acquired spatial computing software startup Mindx Corp. to advance full-stack brain-computer interface (BCI) products. As part of the transaction, Mindx’s augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be integrated with Blackrock’s BCI hardware.

Highlights:
“Having a fully integrated platform will also improve scalability as Blackrock begins to leverage the technology for different applications, all of which will require adjustments to the front-end software.”

“The company has nearly two decades of in-human patient data from research trials representing between 10,000 and 20,000 patient days. Those trials are ongoing, adding to an ever-larger library of patient data.”
