High Performing Wireless Signal Quality

The CerePlex W converts analog signals to digital proximal to the recording site using the Honey Badger ASIC chip. This process dramatically reduces noise, and wirelessly transmits up to 96 channels of neural data sampled at 30 kS/s for up to 3.5 hours*.

*Up to 9 hours with an upgradable battery.

Wireless or Hardwire Mode

The CerePlex Wireless Receiver uses up to 8 antennas to acquire data from the W headstage. As the animal moves, the antennas switch automatically to ensure the strongest signal. In the event wireless transmission is not available, the W features a micro-USB connector giving researchers the power to send neural data via wired transmission and re-charge the device while using. When the battery is drained, it fully recharges via micro-USB connector in a little over an hour. The micro-USB connector can also be used to add an external battery source.

Lightweight and Small

The CerePlex W’s small form factor makes it lightweight and ideal for researchers working with large, freely moving subjects.

Robust Pedestal Connectors

Made specifically for nonhuman primate research, the CerePlex W is rugged and durable. As researchers turn the wheel to secure the connection to the CerePort™ pedestal, the W easily aligns with guide pins to ensure proper alignment once installed. The CerePort pedestal is securely mounted to the skull with bone screws.

On-Board Impedance Measurement

With a flip of a switch, the CerePlex W enables researchers to test impedance of the electrode while in the brain to monitor electrode tip condition. This helps troubleshoot the quality and integrity of the electrode.
