Cortical Applications
The Utah Array is the industry benchmark for recording large populations of neurons. This patented microelectrode array has well-documented methods for obtaining stable and long-term neural recordings.
Utah Array™
With over 1,500 peer-reviewed citations, the proven and validated technology behind the Utah Array has become the gold standard for chronic single-unit recording and stimulation in the cortex.

The Utah Array can be customized around your research including the length of the electrode shaft length and wire bundle.
CUSTOMIZABLE DESIGN
The Utah Array has been successfully recording chronically for over ten years in primates and six years in human. The iridium oxide allows for stimulation and recording without deterioration over time producing stable thresholds and high charge capacitance. The helical wire bundle is also designed with added strain relief for increased longevity of the device.
Longevity
Neural electrode design and manufacturing has been at the core of Blackrock Neurotech's lineage since the birth of the Utah Array in 1994. Blackrock manufactures, and our systems are compatible with, a wide variety of electrodes for recording and stimulating single units, action potentials and local field potentials.
